The revaluation of Social Security pensions which is expected for next year will leave an increase of approximately 2.64% in permanent disability benefits (IP) according to the first estimates based on the evolution of the average annual CPI (Consumer Price Index).

The data for the month of November, which will be published in the middle of next month, will be decisive in outlining the definitive revaluation. This increase will benefit thousands of pensioners who are within the Social Security system and will apply to the degrees of partial, total, absolute and major disability.

During 2025, the average Permanent Disability pension rose to 1,209 euros per month and if this first estimate for next year is taken into account, it could reach 1,239 euros, which is 30 euros more per month. This increase, as usual, is also transferred to extra pay.

Amount of permanent disability pension

The amount of pension for permanent disability It will depend on the regulatory base that will be calculated in one way or another depending on the origin of the disability and its degree. Then, based on this, a percentage of said regulatory base will be granted.

When it comes to partial disability, it will be charged in a single payment and will be a compensation that is calculated based on 24 monthly payments of the regulatory base used to determine the temporary disability benefit. If the beneficiary did not have a prior temporary disability, the regulatory basis that would have corresponded to this benefit will be used.

In total permanent disability, the amount is 55% of the regulatory base, and is charged for life (month by month). Within this, you will be able to access qualified total permanent disability with an amount of 75% when you reach 55 years of age or older and are not working.

In absolute permanent disability, the amount is 100% of the regulatory base and finally, in permanent disability due to major disability the amount is also 100% in addition to adding 45% of the minimum contribution base in force at the time of recognition of the disability as well as 30% of the worker’s last contribution base. It cannot be less than 45% of the pension for absolute disability, without the supplement.
