Performing an analysis of the cost of fuel for this Thursday, October 22, 2026, the average price of 95 unleaded gasoline is specifically at 1,780 euros per liter, compared to the 1,789 euros of the previous weekwhich means a decrease of only 0.5%, as shown by the latest data from the Oil Bulletin of the European Commission.
As for diesel, this week its price remains the same, marking 1,889 euros per liter.
Based on these new fuel prices for this week, it is interesting to know that filling an average 55-liter tank of gasoline costs 97.9 euros. For diesel vehicles, the cost remains 103.89 euros.
Gas stations that sell a liter of gasoline from 1.46 euros
Filling up with gasoline at one service station is not the same as at another, since they have different prices. According to the latest data from the Geoportal of the Ministry for the Ecological Transitionupdated this October 22, the cheapest stations to refuel with 95 gasoline in the peninsula and the Balearic Islands are in Tarragona, Almería and Barcelona.
The cheapest gasoline is found in Tarragona, where its ‘OIL PRIX’ station, which is located on Eix Transversal S/N street, offers 1,465 euros per liter.
Behind it is the ‘ES BORJA – ES SBRADO DE PICATO, SLU’ station, in Cuevas del Almanzora (Almería), located on the A-332 highway, kilometer 11, with a price of 1,499 euros per liter. It is followed by ‘TAMOIL’, in Hospitalet De Llobregat (L’) (Barcelona), located at Avenida Fabregada, 55, where you can refuel for 1,499 euros.
Gas stations that sell a liter of diesel from 1.49 euros
For diesel, the service stations with the lowest prices are distributed between Albacete and Ciudad Real.
The gas station that sells the cheapest diesel is in Fuente-Álamo (Albacete). This is station ‘Nº 7374’, located at Avda. Doctor Pérez Gil, 25, where a liter is sold for 1,499 euros.
Then there is the ‘PETROPRIX’ gas station, which is in Puertollano (Ciudad Real), located on Calle Cañada Real, S/N, which offers a liter of diesel for 1,639 euros. In third place and also in the town of Puertollano, is the ‘FAMILY ENERGY’ station, which is on Avenida Andalucía, S/N, with a liter of diesel also at 1,639 euros.
Spain continues below the European average
With this drop in fuel prices, Spain continues to have lower prices than the European average. Based on the latest Petroleum Bulletin of the European Union, the average price of 95 gasoline stands at 1.991 euros per liter in the European Union, clearly above the 1.780 registered in Spain, which represents a saving of 0.211 euros per liter for Spanish drivers compared to the community average.
The same thing happens with diesel, since the EU average reaches 2,139 euros per liter, while in Spain the average price remains at 1,889 euros.

This difference is mainly due to the lower tax burden applied in Spain on fuels.
