The Junta de Andalucía opens the deadline for aid to carry out work at home: up to 65% subsidy to change windows, put up awnings or improve insulation

Good news for those who are thinking about doing home renovations with the idea of saving on their electricity bill. The Junta de Andalucía has opened the grant period to improve the energy efficiency of homes, with subsidies that can finance up to 65% of the investment in actions such as changing windows, installing awnings or blinds, improving insulation or incorporating renewable energies.

The deadline has opened this October 22, according to informs the Junta de Andalucía on its official website. The program is managed by the Andalusian Energy Agency and has 20.77 million euros co-financed with FEDER funds for actions in homes and other buildings. A good boost to meet the costs of works that are not exactly cheap.

Families, communities of owners and energy communities, as well as self-employed workers, companies, town councils and other entities will be able to access the aid, although the conditions and percentages change depending on the type of beneficiary.

From changing windows, to installing awnings or better insulating the house

Among the works that can be subsidized is the “improvement of the thermal insulation of the façade, roof or roofs” so that so much heat does not enter in summer and, in turn, that heat is lost in the winter. Which would lead to more spending on heating or air conditioning, which thanks to these reforms could be avoided.

Also included is the “replacement of windows with others with better thermal performance”, as well as installing “awnings or blinds” that help provide shade in the home and the renewal of air conditioning, hot water and interior or exterior lighting systems.

Furthermore, within energy efficiency projects it would be possible to add renewable energies such as solar thermal, photovoltaic, biomass or aerothermal energy, provided that they help to improve the energy rating and do not represent more than 50% of the total investment requested.

In order to receive the subsidy, it will be necessary for the actions to improve the building’s energy rating by at least one letter and reduce non-renewable primary energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

The subsidy can cover up to 65% of the work

The Board explains that “individuals may benefit, in general, from an incentive of 50% of the investment” in energy improvement actions for homes.

This percentage can reach 65% when circumstances arise that increase aid, including the incorporation of renewable energies.

For general energy efficiency actions, the minimum incentive that must be requested is 10,000 euros. There is also a specific line for new solar equipment, whose minimum incentive will be 6,000 euros.

In the case of solar installations with storage, individuals, self-employed workers and small businesses start with 55% aid, which can be increased by another ten points when certain requirements are met.

The term will be open until September 2027

Individuals who do not carry out an economic activity can request the subsidy even for certain actions already started, as long as they did not begin before May 1, 2025 and were not completed before submitting the application.

Applications are submitted electronically and aid is granted on a non-competitive basis, so it will be attended to as long as the budget exists.

The term will be open until September 30, 2027 or until available funds are exhausted. Therefore, all interested parties have time to start their requests for the new reform projects they have in mind.

Finally, if the subsidy ultimately exceeds 15,000 euros, an advance payment of 15% may be requested without having to provide a guarantee or 40% when the corresponding guarantee is presented. Partial payments of up to 50% are also allowed once that part of the investment has been justified.
