José Elías, who in recent years has become one of the most listened to voices in the Spanish business scene, stressed that platforms like Amazon can be useful as first step, especially to learn, try business ideas or understand how consumption habits work. “You can get something out of ‘Dinerete’, it’s fine, it’s an learning,” he explained. But he insisted that those who think that this model can turn them into millionaires “are wrong” and should “forget about it.”
“I see many kids riding online business, FBA (a service in which Amazon will be in charge of storing and sending the products and managing customer service and returns) and things like that, with the sole objective of lining, I think that is a wrong approach,” he said.

Faced with the rise of online entrepreneurship initiatives among youth, José Elías does admit the value at the level of professional growth that these experiences can offer, especially because they can serve as a good testing field to learn about sales and business mentality, more than a safe path towards a great fortune.
“I myself encourage my children to experience these things,” he says, convinced that facing business day -to -day life is an essential stage before looking for larger projects.
“This type of business models may not make you rich, but if you are young and you are starting, you can turn you into someone who understands business, and that, in the long run, is worth much more,” recognizes the businessman and owner of ‘La Sirena’.
The entrepreneur also criticizes the idealized narrative of entrepreneurship. “The probability of failure being an entrepreneur is 98%. But nobody mentions this when they sell you the beautiful story of undertaking,” he says, and refuses to feed false expectations: “I do not want to encourage the idea that becoming an entrepreneur avoids suffering. The reality is that the self -employed are the most despised class of this country. And, paradoxically, they are those who hold the Spanish business fabric.”
