How much money you really need to live well, according to José Elías: "There is a point where money stops giving you happiness"

José Elías, the Spanish businessman of Audax Renewables and business owner such as the Supermarket chain of ‘La Sirena’, has assured that reaching the figure of 20,000 euros per month is the limit after which money stops contributing happiness or real welfare.

Thus he has referred to ‘B3tter Pódcast’, as well as in his X account, where he shared a reflection on the link between personal fortune and well -being, raising a conclusion that contradicts the unlimited search for wealth, as he said.

José Elías argues that money “stops giving yourself happiness” when you want more than 20,000 euros per month

In an era marked by the loss of purchasing power and the growing feeling that the salary is no longer enough to cover the basics, many cling to the idea that earning more money would solve all their problems.

Here, on the other hand, José Elías does not think so at all, and believes that happiness does not increase proportionally to income. Given this, he affirms that for him, a fixed monthly income of 20,000 euros marks the limit from which money no longer contributes more well -being. “More money a month will not make you happy,” he reflects.

In his opinion, these 20,000 euros per month stop contributing value to personal life. A figure that, as it maintains, is more than enough to meet basic needs, from housing, food, trips and various whims, guaranteeing an economically relieved life.

The businessman born in Badalona emphasizes that he could even live with less, since extra money does not contribute to a higher quality of life. “I have always thought that there is a point where money stops giving you happiness. And that point is 20,000 euros recurring a month,” said Elijah.

The income adds to the bank, but they do not increase well -being

On this, he added that, in general, “there are no eggs to spend more than that amount per month” because those income already allows you to cover all our expenses. Beyond that threshold, income adds into the bank, but they do not increase well -being or change their lives.

However, the president of Audax Renewables, the energy dedicated to the production and marketing of 100% renewable energy, maintains that even of receiving higher income due to its position in front of a company that lies in the market, José Elías admits that it is not a salary that is self -imposed, but is regulated by comparative studies with other companies of the same sector. Even so, he insisted that he could “live the same with less.”

Elías contradicts the unlimited search for wealth

Faced with the aspirational image that surrounds many successful entrepreneurs, José Elías dismantles the myth with a blunt phrase: “having a lot of money or many companies does not mean that everything is pink.” His words stand out, in certain cases, an awkward truth: wealth and power do not guarantee a full or balanced life. On the contrary, the price to be paid can be high, especially in the emotional and familiar field.

The millionaire today is a man who came to ruin in 2009 and, as he himself has counted, he only had 3,000 euros in the account, so many consider him an example to follow. In Spain, according to the INE, the National Statistics Institute, the Half Annual Gross Salary is around 28,000 euros. Thus, the figure referred to Elijah 20,000 euros monthly, about 240,000 euros a year, is well above the salary of the vast majority of Spaniards.
