A gold expert on what is earned with this precious metal: “A gold bar costs 350 euros and a kilo exceeds 107,000 euros. This year it is going for a profitability of 33%”

Gold has returned to historical highs. An ounce of the precious metal has touched $4,000 this week, and has already accumulated a revaluation of close to 50% in the last year. The escalation occurs in a context marked by international economic and political instability, as well as a growing indebtedness of States that puts pressure on central banks and fuels inflation.

Historically considered a safe haven asset, gold is once again attracting both investors and savers seeking to protect their money from the deterioration of purchasing power. “You don’t have to have a lot of money to invest in gold. There are young people and older people with small savings who see how money in the bank does not give them any profitability,” explains Isaac Sánchez, CEO of the company ‘Your gold is worth more’, dedicated to the buying and selling of gold, who has been invited to the program. ‘The critical view’ of Telecinco.

How much is a gold bar worth?

According to Sánchez, the attractiveness of this precious metal is reflected in the figures, since “last year it offered a return of 36% and this year it has already accumulated more than 33%, which represents an enormous return for any investor,” he points out. “Gold is not something that is bought today to sell tomorrow. It is a medium and long-term investment. Money is worth less and less, but gold retains its valuer”Adds Sánchez.

The businessman explains that today, “a 2.5 gram ingot costs about 350 euros today”, while “a kilo is over 107,000 euros”, and assures that “you don’t have to have a lot of money to start.” In this way, for many small investors, it is a way to protect savings against currency depreciation.

Furthermore, for this expert, this metal has become not only an investment, but also a way to protect family assets. “Instead of leaving an inheritance in money, which increasingly loses value with inflation, many choose to do so in gold, an asset that maintains its purchasing power over time,” he points out.

Why does the value of gold vary?

The phenomenon of gold variation responds to three main factors, according to Sánchez: economic uncertainty, political tension and social conflicts. “States are increasingly indebted and central banks issue more money to pay debt. With more money in circulation, there is more inflation, and that causes prices to rise. What gold does is maintain its value,” he maintains.

The upward trend, according to experts, could be prolonged if global uncertainty persists. Due to the instability experienced worldwide, “everything indicates that the price of gold has not peaked and will continue to be a good investment for a long time,” concludes the analyst.
