Prime Minister Donald Tusk has appointed Agnieszka Majewska, the current field representative of the SME Ombudsman in Gdańsk, to the position of Ombudsman for Small and Medium-Sized Entrepreneurs.
The SME Ombudsman is an independent body that guards the rights of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, representing them in disputes with the state administration and providing opinions on draft legal acts concerning economic matters. Last week, the term of office of the previous Ombudsman, Adam Abramowicz, expired. The new Ombudsman was appointed by the Prime Minister in accordance with the Act at the request of the Minister of Development and Technology after the employer organizations had given their opinion on the candidacy. The term of office of the SME Ombudsman lasts 6 years.
The new Ms. Advocate graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Gdańsk, where she obtained a Master’s degree in administration, and from law studies at the University of Silesia, where she obtained a Master’s degree in law. In 2010, she passed the judge’s exam and was entered on the list of legal advisers. She completed postgraduate studies in tax consulting at the Higher School of Banking in Gdańsk.
She is a legal adviser with 20 years of experience in the application of administrative and economic law. She gained her professional experience, among others, in the District Court in Gdańsk and the Provincial Administrative Court in Gdańsk. She cooperates with the WSB Merito University and the Higher School of Social and Economics in Gdańsk, where she teaches administrative proceedings. She is an expert in the field of administrative law, the author of numerous presentations at scientific and popular science conferences, as well as a member of the Pomeranian Entrepreneurship Council and vice-chair of the Gdańsk Entrepreneurship Council and an expert in the Pomeranian Team for Women.
Over the past five years, Agnieszka Majewska has served as a field representative of the SME Ombudsman in Gdańsk, maintaining close dialogue and cooperation with employer and business environment organizations. She has successfully conducted numerous interventions in defense of entrepreneurs’ rights.
