With the arrival of the end of the month, all retirees and pensioners ask the same question that is when pensions are charged and more specifically when they enter it in their bank, either CaixaBank, BBVA or Banco Santander, among others. Social Security regulations establish that pensions are always charged to expired between days 1 and 4, although most banking entities usually advance it with the aim of giving greater liquidity to pensioners and retirees.
The possibility of advancing the pension is thanks to what is known as the unique centralized account of the General Social Security Treasury with the banking entities. This mechanism allows banks to know days in advance what their beneficiaries are and the amounts to be collected, so they can advance the income always doing it before the “value date” which is the maximum date to make the entrance. This is regulated in article 24 of Royal Decree 696/2018.

What day pensions are charged in September 2025
Social Security pays the September 2025 pension between October 1 and 4, since, as we have explained, it does so well. Even so, and as we have said, the vast majority of bank entities will advance the collection and make entry to their beneficiaries between September 23 and 25. These are the dates planned according to the banking entity:
- BBVA: Thursday, September 25
- CaixaBank: Thursday, September 25
- Santander: Wednesday, September 24
- Sabadell: Thursday, September 25
- Ibercaja: Thursday, September 25
- Unicaja: Tuesday, September 23
- ING: Thursday, September 25
- Abanca: Thursday, September 25
- Cajamar: Thursday, September 25
- Kutxabank: Thursday, September 25
- Engineers Box: Tuesday, September 23
- Bankinter: Tuesday, September 23
- Kutxa Labor: Thursday, September 25
- GDP: Between October 1 and 4 (does not advance the payment)
What happens if I have not charged the pension this month?
In the case of having arrived on October 4 and the pension has not been charged, that is, we do not see in money admitted to the bank account, a claim to social security will have to be submitted. In this way we can know the reason we have not charged.
This process can be done online through the Social Security Headquarters, in the space for “complaints and claims.” To do so you have to identify and complete the form, notifying the administration that the pension has not been charged. The deadline for Social Security to offer an answer is 3 business days and must explain the reason for the delay.
