I call on everyone to sign the petition as soon as possible, in which we appeal to the Prime Minister and politicians of the ruling coalition to restore the health insurance contribution from before the Polish Deal – says Adam Abramowicz. The former spokesman for small and medium-sized enterprises has launched a nationwide campaign to restore the flat-rate health insurance contribution.
For years, the health insurance contribution for entrepreneurs, calculated as a lump sum partially deducted from tax, has been working well in Poland. Unfortunately, from January 1, 2022, the so-called Polish Deal changed these rules, complicating the calculation system and significantly increasing the amount of the health insurance contribution for entrepreneurs. This resulted in a radical increase in the costs of doing business and a decrease in the competitiveness of Polish companies. Before the Polish Deal, entrepreneurs paid PLN 9 billion in health insurance contributions, after its introduction they pay as much as PLN 19 billion.
Adam Abramowicz, the spokesman for small and medium-sized enterprises in the years 2018-2024, launched a nationwide campaign to restore the flat-rate health insurance contribution. “Restoring the flat-rate, fair, tax-deductible health insurance contribution was an election promise of the new government. This promise convinced many entrepreneurs to vote for the current ruling coalition. Today, more than ten months after the elections, we are still being deceived. The government is doing everything to not fulfill this promise. We hear about friction in the coalition on this matter, some kind of barter between parties, but there are no concrete actions,” says Abramowicz. “That is why I decided to take matters into my own hands and, together with a group of entrepreneurs, initiate a nationwide campaign to collect signatures for a petition in which we demand that the government restore the pre-Polish Deal health insurance contribution from the new year. Simple, tax-deductible, and simply fair,” he adds.
There is little time left to implement the postulate. The flat-rate health insurance contribution can be restored until the budget for 2025 is passed.
– That is why there is no point in waiting. I call on everyone to sign the petition as soon as possible, in which we ask for the restoration of the health insurance contribution from before the Polish Deal. At the same time, I would also like not only the government, but all political forces to be the addressees of this petition. Let everyone get involved in repairing the current system, which is disastrous for Polish small and medium-sized enterprises – appeals Adam Abramowicz.
