The Madrid City Council has opened the deadline to request the new aid of up to 1,000 euros that will be paid to all families that meet a few requirements. The Government chaired by José Luis Martínez – Almeida has launched this extra income that ranges from 500 euros for families with one born or adopted child, to 1,000 euros when they have three or more. This measure has been included in the Birth Promotion and Conciliation Plan 2024-2029.
This is not the first time that the Madrid City Council has offered help for familiesdue to the rise in prices due to inflation and the salaries of many Spanish workers remain stagnant. To this we must add the cost of raising children for low-income families.

The amount of this aid changes depending on the number of children and will be 500 euros for the first child, 750 for the second and 1,000 for the third and subsequent children. As published on the Madrid City Council website, this is “universal” aid, because no limitation is placed on the income of the family unit, nor on the age of the parents, and it is compatible with others provided for the same purpose promoted by different administrations, public or private entities, such as the Minimum Living Income (IMV), for example.
Requirements to request aid of up to 1,000 euros
According to the Madrid City Council, the requirements that must be met to request aid of up to 1,000 euros are:
- Be Spanish or foreigner with legal residence in Spain.
- Be registered in the capital for at least 5 years and not be deprived of parental authority over your minors.
- Not be subject to any of the causes of prohibition to access the status of beneficiary established in section 2 of article 13 of the General Law of Subsidies, with the exceptions provided for in the call.
How to ask for help

Two ways are open to request help. The first of them, and the most advisable, is through the Electronic Office, and the second is in person at the Registry offices. It was the delegate of Social Policies, Family and Equality of the Madrid City Council, José Fernández, who announced that the request can be made from this day, November 4.
The form is now available at the Madrid Electronic Headquarters (sede.madrid.es) and must be completed and signed by a parent or guardian of the minor. Then, it must be submitted to the City Council Registry, sending it online or in person. If you choose this second option, you will have to check which ‘Línea Madrid’ citizen service offices are.
Only one application can be submitted per birth or adoption; if multiple, one must be filled out for each child. Those born between June 1 and November 3 will also have a period of 2 months to complete the process. Once it is verified that everything is correct, the payment will be made in a single payment.
