The price of light today Sunday, August 31 for hours: the cheapest hours and faces within the PVPC

The average price of light for this Sunday, August 31, 2025, is 116.93 euros per megavatio hour (MW/h) for consumers with regulated or indexed rate in the free market, according to data published by Red Electric. Compared to the average on Saturday, it is a new drop, this time of 30.84 euros, since on August 30 the average rate stood at 147.77 euros per MWh.

This price is greater than the one offered by the Iberian energy market operator (OMIE), since it includes taxes and tolls. Therefore, this is published at the last minute of the day and OMIE is published at noon.

What time is the light cheaper this Sunday, August 31?

The cheapest time of light is given from 12:00 to 13:00, when the price drops to 57.07 euros/MWh. Very low prices are also maintained between 09:00 and 6:00 p.m., especially in the strip from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. (€ 57.76/MWh) and from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (€ 59.96/MWh). Although they are not below 50 euros as the previous day, the savings continue to concentrate at noon and early in the afternoon.

When is electricity more expensive?

The maximum electricity price is recorded between 07:00 and 08:00, at a cost of 151.62 euros/MWh. The second most expensive strip is from 00:00 to 01:00 hours, with € 138.1/MWh. In this way, the greatest expense is concentrated early in the morning and during the early morning, while at night the prices are moderately high (between € 116 and 129/MWh).
