The average price of electricity in Spain for this Monday, September 8, 2025, will be 76.37 euros/MWh (euros the megavatio hour). This represents a strong rise of 139.85% compared to that registered on Saturday, when the wholesale market (‘Pool’) marked 31.84 euros/MWh. That is, for the pocket it will be 0.076 euros per kWh, according to the data of the Iberian energy market (OMIE).
If we look a year ago, electricity is now 12.71% more expensive, since on the same date of 2024 the ‘pool’ marked 67.76 euros. It should be taken into account that this is only the wholesale price of reference, which mainly affects households with regulated rate (PVPC) and those who have indexed contracts in the free market. This amount is then added tolls, charges and taxes, which Red Eléctrica will publish at the last minute of the day.

When is light cheaper on Monday?
The lowest electricity price will be registered between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., when it will fall to 27.08 euros/MWh. There will also be other very economical sections throughout the day, especially between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., with values that will range between 27 and 38 euros/MWh.
When is light more expensive this Monday?
The highest price of the day will be reached between 08:00 and 09:00 hours, with a maximum of 108.36 euros/MWh. Other very expensive stripes between 07:00 and 09:00 hours and from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., when the cost will exceed 95 euros/MWh. These will be the less advisable hours to concentrate electricity consumption, since the invoice can make more expensive.

For the beginning of this week, the central hours of the day will be the cheapest, but taking into account that they will be more expensive if we compare it with previous days. On the other hand, avoid the last hours of the day and the first hours of the morning, where the price will touch and in some cases they will exceed 100 euros, as shown in the price of light time by time.
