The average price of light for this Monday, September 1, 2025, is 168.25 euros per megavatio hour (MW/h) for consumers with regulated or indexed rate in the free market, according to data published by Red Electric. In relation to Sunday average, the increase is 51.32 euros, since on August 31 the average cost of electricity had set at 116.93 euros/MWh.
This price level is above the one that marks daily the Iberian energy market operator (OMIE). The difference is because the official PVPC reference incorporates taxes, tolls and other regulated concepts, while the OMIE figure only reflects the value of the wholesale auction. For this reason, the PVPC data is published lately from the day, while that of the wholesale market is known at noon.
