The price of gasoline takes a radical turn this week and diesel is sold from 1.26 euros at these gas stations

Despite the war in the Middle East, after the attacks by the US and Israel and Iran’s response, gas and oil prices have skyrocketed in all markets around the world, the truth is that Spain continues to resist and we can say that we have cheaper gasoline than a week ago. Much of this decrease is due to the reduction in VAT and the hydrocarbon tax approved by the Government.

According to the latest data published by the Petroleum Bulletin of the European Union, with data from the week of March 30, 2026, the average price of 95 gasoline in Spain drops to 1.557 euros per liter, compared to 1.733 euros the previous week, that is, a drop of 0.22 euros. In the case of diesel, the decrease places it at 1.777 euros per liter, below the 1.883 euros registered seven days ago, about 0.10 euros.

With these prices, filling an average 55-liter tank costs about 85.67 euros, so it now costs 3.42 euros more than a year ago when it cost 82.25 euros. In the case of diesel, filling an average 55-liter tank costs approximately 97.74 euros and a year ago the price was 98.7 euros, so in this case we pay 0.96 euros less.

These prices are also added to stations in Almendralejo, Tudela, Villalpardo, Iznájar or Zaragoza, with amounts that range between 1,319 and 1,325 euros per liter.

Along with these stations, there are also others with adjusted amounts in Pozoblanco, Cuevas del Almanzora, Riolobos, Andújar, Cartagena, Córdoba and Villalpardo, with prices ranging from 1,400 to 1,461 euros per liter, all of them below the national average.

Spain continues below the European average

Although filling the tank continues to be a significant expense for many families, Spain this week maintains lower prices than the European average. In the case of 95 gasoline, the liter costs on average 1,871 euros in the European Union and 1,911 euros in the eurozone, compared to the 1,557 euros that Spain sets.

Something similar happens with diesel. The average is 2.075 euros per liter in the European Union and 2.091 euros in the eurozone, while in Spain it remains at 1.777 euros.

Behind this difference are, above all, lower taxes and lower logistics costs than in other surrounding countries. Even so, fuel continues to have a lot of weight in the household budget, so comparing prices before refueling is once again key to saving.
