The price of fuels in Spain adds their downward trend during the summer and in full special operation for the August bridge and brand new minimums this week. According to the latest data of the European Union Petroleum Bulletin, the price of diesel liter is 1,414 euros, after reducing 0.7% compared to the previous week, while gasoline drops 0.27%, up to 1,479 euros. With these variations, both fuels accumulate a setback so far this year of 2% and 3%, respectively.

This drop in the prices of fuels arrives at a time when many return from their vacations, but another start their vacations during the last ten days of August. Therefore, to whom you have to fill the deposit will see a relief in your pocket, since this descent will be noticed.

Filling a tank is cheaper

With current prices, filling an average deposit of 55 liters of diesel costs 77.77 euros, which represents 2.14 euros less than in the same period of 2024, when it amounted to 79.91 euros. In the case of gasoline vehicles, the filling of a similar deposit is 81.34 euros, which represents a saving of 5.7 euros compared to the 87.06 euros it cost a year ago.

So far from 2025, the price of gasoline has reduced 3%, while diesel accumulates a 2%drop. Both fuels are also maintained below the levels registered before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, on February 24, 2022, when gasoline quoted at 1,591 euros per liter and diesel to 1,479 euros. The contrast to the maximum of July 2022 remains remarkable: in that summer gasoline reached 2,141 euros and diesel 2.1 euros per liter.

The cheapest gas stations in Spain

Now, you have to know that this is the average price and it can vary depending on the province or service station where the refueling is carried out. This data can be consulted on the website of Industry and Tourism, since it publishes daily at its electronic headquarters, in the section “Price of fuels in Spanish gas stations”, the information updated with the sale prices in each gas station.

The cheapest gas station registered this week is located in Santander (Cantabria), at the Petroprix station on Faustino Cavadas Street, 32, where the liter of no lead gasoline 95 is sold to 1,239 euros. The same price is available at another city station, Plenergy, located on San Martín del Pino street.

In the province of Valencia, the most economical option corresponds to the Ballenoil Station of La Pobla de Vallbona, on Mercaderia Street, where the fuel is offered to 1,255 euros per liter. Finally, in Tomelloso (Ciudad Real), highlights the Plenergy Station of Juan Carlos I Avenue, with a price of 1,259 euros per liter.

On the other hand, the cheapest service station to repost diesel (diesel a) is located in Córdoba Capital, where the Cotranco station, located on Simón Carpintero street, 24, offers the liter to 0.999 euros. Very close is the UTE station in Murcia, on Bolos Street in the Murcian capital, with a price of 1,029 euros per liter.

In the city of Cartagena (Murcia), the service station located on Marín Trovero Avenue, 3 markets diesel at 1,084 euros per liter, while in the municipality of Santurtzi (Bizkaia), the Plenergy station of Antonio Alzaga Etorbidea Avenue, 134, marks a price of 1,169 euros.

Cheaper gasoline and diesel than in Europe

Compared to Europe, Spain continues to offer lower prices. The 95 leading gasoline is paid average to 1,612 euros in the EU and 1,660 euros in the Eurozone, compared to 1,479 euros national. In the case of diesel, the differential is repeated: 1,414 euros in Spain, compared to 1,524 euros in the EU and 1.55 euros in the euro zone.
