The price of fuels in Spain continues to fall and already chains a month of continuous decreases, standing at the lowest summer levels and coinciding with the operation return of the holidays. According to the data published by the European Union Petroleum Bulletin, corresponding to the week of August 19 to 25, the 95 fuel drops 0.13% to 1,477 euros per liter, while the diesel did 0.49% to 1,407 euros.

The fall occurs at a time of maximum mobility on the roads. The General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) had planned 52.9 million displacements during August, and only in the last weekend of the month more than five million long -distance routes are expected. In this way, the price drop in both gasoline and diesel will be noticed in the pocket of the drivers in the return of the holidays.
The folders thus prolong a bearish trend that began at the end of July. The gasoline chains five consecutive weeks of decreases, with a 0.8% setback in August and 3.2% so far from 2025, while diesel accumulates four weeks down, with falls of 1.9% monthly and 2.5% in the whole of the year.
The reduction is even more significant in the interannual comparison. Gasoline is today 5.7% cheaper than a year ago, while diesel costs 2.1% less. These levels place both fuels clearly below those registered before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in February 2022, when gasoline was sold to 1,591 euros and diesel to 1,479.
How much does it cost to fill the deposit in the last week of August
With these prices filling a 55 -liter deposit of GUER 95 gasoline costs 81.23 euros in the case of gasoline, which is 4.9 less than just a year ago. In the case of diesel (diesel a) filling a 55 -liter deposit now has a price of 77.38 euros, which are 1.7 euros less a year ago for these same dates.
The cheapest gas stations in Spain
Keep in mind that the price shown by the Petroleum Bulletin of the European Union is the average price at Spain, that is, it can vary depending on the province or service station where the refueling is carried out. To learn about the cheapest gas stations, the Ministry of Industry and Tourism public daily at its electronic headquarters, in the section “Price of fuels in Spanish gas stations”, the updated information of the sales prices at each point of supply of the country.
The cheapest gas station recorded this week is located in Cantabria, where several stations offer no lead gasoline 95 to 1,239 euros per liter. This price can be found in Camargo at the Balenoil stations (Gutiérrez Solana Street, 24) and Plenergy (Alday Street, s/n), as well as in Santander, in the Petroprix stations (Faustino Cavadas Street, 32) and Plenergy (San Martín del Pino street, s/n).
In Ciudad Real, the Family Energy Station, located on the N-310 road at kilometer 93, markets gasoline at 1,259 euros, an identical price offered by Balenoil on Avenida de la Constitución de Coslada (Madrid). In the Valencian Community, the Ballenoil Almoines station stands out (Dels Pintors, 5), where the liter of gasoline is sold to 1,273 euros.
On the other hand, the cheapest service station to repost diesel is located in Córdoba, at the Cotranco station of Simón Carpintero Street, 24, where the liter costs 0.999 euros, well below the national average. It is followed by the UTE station in Murcia, on Bolos Street in the Murcian capital, which offers diesel to 1,029 euros per liter.
In Cartagena (Murcia), the bus station located on Marín Trovero Avenue, 3, sells the diesel to 1,084 euros, while in Córdoba, on the Madrid-Cádiz road (Km 382), the liter stands at 1,167 euros. Finally, in the Valencian town of Almoines, the Ballenoil station marks a price of 1,173 euros per liter of diesel.
Cheaper gasoline and diesel than in Europe
If we look at Europe we can say that Spain has cheaper fuels than average. For example, 95 octane gasoline costs 1,615 euros per liter and in the eurozone 1,665 euros, while diesel is 1,524 and 1.55 euros, respectively.
Analysts remember that the contribution of fuels depends on multiple factors: the evolution of crude oil, taxes, the cost of refining and logistics, as well as the margins of the distributors. In addition, the translation of the variations of oil to the supplier usually occurs with a temporary lag, which explains that the descents last several weeks in a row.
