The average price of a liter of gasoline, for its part, has increased by 0.54% compared to last week, standing at 1.472 euros.

These prices reflect that the cost of gasoline in 2025 has fallen by 3.6% compared to the end of the previous year, while diesel has fallen by 2.5%.

Filling the diesel tank costs 76.67 euros

As of today, filling the tank of a 55-liter diesel car costs about 77.44 euros, approximately 94 cents compared to last year when the price was 76.50 euros.

In the case of gasoline, filling the average tank costs 80.96 euros, that is, 2.8 euros less than in 2024 when filling it would mean an outlay of 82.77 euros.

Gasoline and diesel prices are still far from the highs recorded in the summer of 2022, when in July they exceeded 2 euros per liter, gasoline reached 2.141 euros and diesel exceeded 2.10 euros.

Since then, diesel has had a lower price than gasoline for 140 consecutive weeks, a situation that was common before the start of the conflict in Ukraine. With the Russian invasion in February 2022, diesel experienced a sharp increase in price and for a time it was above the price of gasoline. It was not until February 2023 when this trend began to reverse.

It must be taken into account that the final amount that consumers pay at service stations depends on multiple variables, including the specific price of each fuel (which does not always follow that of oil), the evolution of crude oil, the tax burden, distribution costs, raw materials and commercial margins. Furthermore, changes in the price of oil are not reflected immediately at the pumps, but rather do so with a certain delay due to the functioning of the market and the supply chain.
