The average price of fuel in Spain continues to decline, reaching a new low since mid-June, with a new drop for the second consecutive week. If we differentiate between fuels, the average price of a liter of diesel has dropped to 1,396 euros, so diesel paid 0.47% cheaper than last weekwhile gasoline has reached 1.466 euros per liter, with a drop of 0.47%. It is the fourth week in a row that the average price of a liter of gasoline has fallen.
These data, collected by the Petroleum Bulletin of the European Union (EU), mark the clear downward trend in prices that gasoline has been following for two weeks, something that contrasts with the latest forecasts of the latest CPI datawhich risked a rise in fuel prices.

If compared to the summer of 2022, both diesel and gasoline are still far from the maximums recorded on those dates, since in that month of July gasoline reached 2,141 euros and diesel 2.1 euros per liter, nothing more and nothing less.
Diesel has continued to be cheaper than gasoline for 138 weeks, thus recovering the usual situation before the conflict. In the midst of the energy crisis caused by the war, diesel surpassed gasoline in price from August 2022 to mid-February 2023, when the trend was reversed.
The price of fuel is conditioned by various factors, such as the specific price of each product (independent of oil), the evolution of crude oil, taxes, the cost of raw materials and transportation, as well as profit margins.
Finally, variations in the price of crude oil are not immediately reflected in fuels, but rather do so with a certain time delay.
