The price of electricity in Spain for this Wednesday, October 8, 2025, will be 99.19 euros per megawatt hour (MWh). This represents an increase of 0.55%, since this Tuesday the so-called ‘pool’ was set at 98.65 euros/MWh, according to data published by the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE).
If we compare it with a year ago, electricity is now 67.82 euros more expensive, since that day the rate was 31.37 euros/MWh. This increase comes at a time when Red Eléctrica will announce that it will stop the entry of renewable electricity to avoid surges in the network, making the ramps go from 2 to 15 minutes starting this Wednesday.

When is electricity cheaper this Wednesday?
The cheapest hour of electricity will be concentrated between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., when the price will drop to 55.55 euros/MWh. After this, the most economical periods will be between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., with prices that will range between 63.23 and 68.20 euros/MWh, so they will be the best times to install washing machines, dishwashers or charge the electric car.
When is electricity most expensive?
On the contrary, the highest price will be recorded between 08:00 and 09:00, when it will reach 154.27 euros/MWh. It will be followed by the slots from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with 141.79 euros/MWh, and from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with 139.05 euros/MWh.
