The price of electricity in Spain for this Thursday, October 9, 2025, drops to 64.63 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), according to data published by the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE). This means that electricity will be paid 34.84% cheaper than this Wednesday, in which its price is 99.19 euros.
If it were purchased a year ago, the electricity rate has become more expensive by 106.02% and the October 8, 2024, the price was 31.37 euros.
It must be taken into account that these values correspond to the price marked on the wholesale market. Consumers with a tariff or indexed rate in the free market will have to wait until the end of the afternoon when the Voluntary Price for Small Consumers (PVPC) is announced by Red Eléctrica.
When is electricity cheaper this Thursday?
The cheapest time for electricity will be from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at which time it will drop to 55.55 euros. The rest of the sections at higher prices are concentrated in the central hours of the day.
When is electricity most expensive?
The maximum peak of electricity, on the contrary, will be between 08:00 and 09:00 hours in which it will be paid at 154.27 euros. The other sections to avoid are distributed at different times, but especially in the late afternoon and early evening hours,
