The price of electricity tomorrow, Friday, October 17, 2025: when is it cheapest and most expensive on the day

The average price of electricity for this Friday, October 17, 2025, will be 107.49 euros per megawatt hour (MWh) in the wholesale market, according to new data published by the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE). Taking into account that during the day this Thursday electricity was set at 109.88 euros/MWh, it means that it is now 2.71% cheaper, that is, about 2.39 euros.

This new increase will affect consumers with a regulated PVPC or indexed rate in the free market, but taking into account that this price does not have taxes or tolls applied. This information was announced by Red Eléctrica at the end of the day.

When is electricity cheaper this Friday?

The cheapest hour of electricity for this Friday will occur in the afternoon between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. with a price of 45 euros/MWh. After this, the next hour will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a price of 48.39 euros, followed by 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with 57.8 euros and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., with an average price of €53.77/MWh.

When is electricity most expensive?

The maximum price of electricity will be in the morning, between 8:00 and 9:00, when it will have a price of €159.40/MWh. It will be necessary to pay attention to the early hours of the morning and night, since the maximum peak will be concentrated in those bands. In addition, others will have to be avoided, such as those from 8 to 9 p.m. and from 9 to 10 p.m., with an average price of €152.71/MWh.
