The average price of electricity this Wednesday, March 18, 2026, for consumers with a regulated or indexed rate in the free market, drops to 136.96 euros/MWh, according to data published by Red Eléctrica. This means that electricity is paid 6.46% cheaper than this Tuesday in which the price was 146.41 euros (9.45 euros less).
It should be remembered that these amounts correspond to what is known as the Voluntary Price for Small Consumers (PVPC), that is, they are amounts that include concepts such as taxes and tolls, and differ from those applied in the wholesale marketwhich is announced by the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE).
When is electricity cheaper this Wednesday?
The cheapest time for electricity is between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. when the price drops to 82.80 euros. The rest of the more affordable sections are distributed between the early afternoon and early morning hours.
When is electricity most expensive this Wednesday?
The maximum peak of electricity, on the contrary, is between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. and reaches 255.21 euros, although it will not be the only time in which it exceeds 200 euros.
