The average price of electricity for this Friday, February 20, 2026, for consumers with a regulated or indexed tariff contracted on the free market rises to 136.05 euros/MWh, as can be seen from the data published by Red Eléctrica. This means that electricity is paid 6.72% more expensive than this Thursday, in which the price was 127.49 euros (8.56 euros more).
It must be taken into account that these amounts refer to what is known as the Voluntary Price for Small Consumers (PVPC). This amount differs from that published by the Operator of the Iberian Energy Market (OMIE) showing prices in the wholesale marketwhich are usually lower because they do not include concepts such as taxes and tolls.

The cheapest time for electricity is between 04:00 and 05:00, with a price of 73.21 euros. Although most of the most affordable hours are in the early morning, two others can be taken advantage of during the early afternoon hours.
