The CNMC appears today in the Congressional investigation commission on the blackout

The president of Redeia, Beatriz Corredor, and the Director of Energy of the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC), Rocío Prieto, appear this Monday, May 18, at the Congressional investigation commission into the blackout of April 28, 2025.

This is the second call of this commission, the first being held a month ago with the appearance of the CEOs of Endesa, Iberdrola and Naturgy, who were critical of the management of Red Eléctrica during the 2025 blackout and of the report that the panel of European experts has prepared on the event, precisely because the electricity operator is part of said panel and they see a conflict of interest.

Corredor and Prieto in the commission must answer the questions from the different parliamentary groups, with the aim of clarifying the causes that caused the blackout. Both already attended a similar investigative commission in the Senate promoted by the PP and where the Government was held responsible for what happened.
