The price of fuels in Spain follows its downward trend at this start of September and marks minimal again, after a month of August in which it has not stopped down. The average diesel price has dropped 0.07%, after its fifth consecutive drop, reaching 1,406 euros compared to the data last week. For its part, the liter of gasoline marks an average price of 1,477 euros, according to the data published by the European Union Petroleum Bulletin (EU).
This year 2025 gasoline has accumulated a reduction in its average price of 2.8%, while the diesel is 2.5%, according to Europa Press. These data arrive just in the week when most Spaniards have already returned from their vacations and begin their routines.

Filling the tank is up to 4.9 euros cheaper
With the price contemplated this week, filling the deposit is cheaper. If an average of 55 liters of diesel is taken, the price will be 77.33 euros, about 0.99 euros less than in September last year when it was paid up to 78.32 euros.
In gasoline vehicles, filling the average deposit (55 liters) is reflected in an expense of 81.23 euros, in total 5.83 euros less on average than in 2024 when it was paid at 87.06 euros.
In reference to diesel, the average price is below what it cost when the Ukraine War began on February 24, 2022 when it was 1,479 euros the liter. And gasoline also follows that trend, below 1,591 euros that cost at that time.
Gasoline continues to be more expensive than diesel
The average cost of diesel liter has already adds 131 weeks being cheaper than gasoline. This continues the situation that existed before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which caused the price of diesel to be more expensive than that of gasoline continuously from August 2022 to mid -February 2023. Although other factors can also influence these trends, such as benefit margins, the evolution of crude oil or even logistics.
The evolution in the price of crude does not move to the prices of fuels but must take into account other changing factors over time.
Spain has the price of gasoline lower than the EU average
Compared to the rest of the countries of the European Union, the price of 95 -colored gasoline in Spain is cheaper, since the EU average is 1,614 euros.
The diesel for its part, has a price in Spain also lower than the European average that is 1,518 euros, and the euro zone with 1,545 euros / liter.
