The new Minister of Finance, Arcadi España, has defended that the Income Campaign is an “act of civility” in which “those who have the most, contribute the most” to finance public services. His statements coincided with the start of the campaign, in which taxpayers could already request your draftssomething that was done by the 1,288,000 people who submitted their declaration until 7:00 p.m., 9.8% more than the previous year.

According to data from the Tax Agency, collected by Europa Press, the start-up recorded a high rate of presentations, with peaks of up to 2,000 declarations per minute after midnight. Of the total, 279,000 were processed through ‘Direct Rent’, 191% more, and 239,000 through the mobile application, 25% more.

More statements to enter and news in the campaign

The Tax Agency estimates that 15,706,000 declarations will be returned, 2.8% less than last year, for an amount of 13,271 million euros. On the contrary, an increase in the declarations to be entered is expected, which will reach 7,709,000, 10.3% more, with an estimated collection of 24,628 million.

Among the new features, Arcadi Spain highlighted a deduction of up to 340 euros for those who receive the minimum interprofessional salary. He also pointed out that capital income exceeding 300,000 euros will contribute more and that aid from the Valencia dana will be exempt.

The Government demands a more progressive personal income tax

The minister assured that the current system is “more progressive, more redistributive” and represents a lower tax burden for the lowest incomes. In this sense, he stressed that the campaign makes it possible to sustain public services such as health, education or social benefits.

Likewise, he recalled that taxpayers will be able to request an appointment for telephone service from April 29 and in person from May 29, in a campaign that maintains different channels to facilitate the presentation of the declaration.
