The IBEX 35 has lost almost 1% (0.96%) in its last session held on Tuesday, causing a withdrawal to 15,119.3 integers, after the dismissal of one of the governors of the Federal Reserve, Lisa Cook, undertaken by the president of the United States, Donald Trump, claiming the alleged falsification of documents in different mortgage requests and the consequent lack of confidence in his “integrity.”

In addition to the impact caused by Trump’s unexpected decision on the Fed, the markets reacted cautiously to the threat of the US president to impose new tariffs and restrictions on chips exports. The warning was aimed at countries that maintain rates or digital regulations that, according to Washington, harm North American technology companies.

In this context, the Spanish Minister of Economy, Carlos Corpora, has summoned meetings with the affected sector work groups this week to analyze the recent commercial agreement between the United States and the European Union.

Impact on European markets

Political instability also moved to Europe. Paris led the losses with a 1.70%decrease, followed by Milan (-1.33%), London (-0.60%) and Frankfurt (-0.50%). The Spanish Stock Exchange was no exception, conditioned by international events and expectations to the publication of key business results.
