The Government approves new aid to boost youth employment in 2026: 16.8 million for training and work

This Tuesday, the Council of Ministers approved a package of subsidies worth 16.8 million euros aimed at promoting youth employment programs in 2026. The funds, managed by the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), will be directed towards training initiatives, job placement and first professional experience in public administrations and state organizations.

These aid, according to Europa Press, will be channeled through different programs, such as the TándEM experiential projects, which combine training and professional practice, or the first work experience initiatives for young people in the public sector. Also included is the Investigo program, focused on improving employability in the field of research and innovation.

TándEM programs consist of temporary projects that allow participants to acquire training while developing a professional activity, with the aim of facilitating their access to the labor market. Added to this are initiatives that encourage the hiring of unemployed people to carry out works or services of general interest, while improving attention to citizens.

In parallel, the first professional experience program seeks to offer unemployed young people their first job contact within public administrations, while Investigo is aimed at strengthening strategic sectors linked to science and innovation.

They will be focused on young people and groups with more difficulties

The Executive has highlighted that these subsidies respond to the situation of groups with greater difficulties in accessing employment, especially young people. Participation in these programs will allow beneficiaries to acquire qualifications, professional experience or both, increasing their opportunities for job placement.

Furthermore, the execution of these projects will in some cases contribute to improving public services, as they are developed in areas of general interest.

The programs will be developed in collaboration with different organizations of the General State Administration, including the National Heritage, the Central Traffic Headquarters, the CSIC, the National Library or the Youth Institute, among others.
