The creation of companies marks its best June in 18 years with a 15% increase in the number of companies

The month of June brings positive data regarding the creation of Companies in Spain. According to the latest provisional data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), 10,964 commercial companies in Spain were constituted, which meant an interannual increase of 15% compared to the same month of 2024. A fact that, after months in a row, positions this June as the best in 18 years in terms of the creation of companies.

However, the total capital signed for these new companies decreased 6.2%, standing at 442.2 million euros, and the average capital was reduced by 18.4%, up to 40,332 euros.

In addition to the new highs, 2,262 companies expanded capital, 4.3% more than in June of the previous year, although with a 5.3% decrease in the total amount signed. In the same month, 1,582 companies dissolved, 1.4% more than in 2024. Most, 79.9%, did so voluntarily, while 9.7% closed by fusion and the rest for other causes.

In which sectors new companies have been created

Of the new companies created in Spain, 20.3%of them corresponded to the real estate, financial and insurance sector, followed by trade (15.7%) and construction (14.3%).

On the contrary, trade led the solutions with 18.2%, ahead of construction (16.4%).

The sector with the largest signed capital was real estate, financial and insurance, with 264.69 million euros, while the lowest capital was recorded in administrative activities and auxiliary services, with 4.51 million.

How Spanish companies have grown in the different autonomous communities

By autonomous communities, the greatest increases in the creation of societies occurred in the Valencian Community (+33.6%), the Basque Country (+28.0%) and La Rioja (+25.0%).

At the opposite end, Cantabria (-7.4%) and the Region of Murcia (-5.1%) were the only regions with descents.
