Iberdrola has announced that, throughout this week, from October 11 to 17, different municipalities in the Community of Madrid will experience scheduled power outages. These do not respond to a network failure or an unexpected blackout, but are carried out to guarantee the quality of the service and the safety of the facilities, as the company itself explains on its web portal.
Thus, these are planned works and, on this occasion, they will affect a total of 24 Madrid municipalities, including the capital. As on other occasionson their official website they have indicated, in addition to the municipalities, the duration of the work (that is, the time the power outage will last), with the start and end time, and the exact addresses. Now, in the event that they finish the work before the scheduled time, they would restore the service immediately.

How can I know if the municipality where I live is affected?
The easiest way to know if your municipality is affected is to subscribe to the Private Area of Iberdrola’s free SMS and/or email notification service, where they inform in advance of the start and end dates and times of scheduled outages and incidents.
The company advises being well organized in the event of a scheduled power outage, from gestures as simple as leaving food ready or having electrical devices charged to avoiding taking the elevator to prevent risks. It is also advisable to disconnect sensitive equipment.
