Confederation politicians stressed their concerns about restrictions on cash payments and financial surveillance, which is increasingly affecting Poles.
MP Krzysztof Bosak, Deputy Speaker of the Sejm from the Confederation, drew attention to the growing difficulties associated with using online financial services and verification procedures, which increasingly restrict the financial freedom of Poles. Bosak emphasized that control over our finances leads to the loss of our freedom and independence.
Surveillance tool
Bartosz Bocheńczak, deputy chief of staff of the Confederation, noticed the government’s actions aimed at gradually eliminating cash, which is an attack on the last bastion of our freedom. Bocheńczak warned against the instrument of surveillance that the lack of cash is becoming and against the possibility of disciplining citizens by the state.
MP Bosak also recalled the restrictions on cash payments in the European Union, which have been in place for a dozen or so years. He noted that Poland is advanced in terms of electronic payments, but the EU’s deliberate restriction of cash is a permanent trend that restricts our freedom.
Euro-ruling of cash
Recently, the European Council together with the European Parliament decided that cash payments will only be allowed up to 10 thousand euros. Moreover, cash transactions between 3 and 10 thousand euros will require an identity check and presentation of an appropriate document by the customer – informs biznes.interia.pl.
In connection with this, Confederation politicians appealed to defend financial freedom and cash as one of the last bastions of our independence.
