The Spanish Food Safety Agency (Aesan)which depends directly on the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030has ordered the withdrawal of a famous seed oil that was being sold in Spain. According to a statement, this oil painting by the brand Pure Indian Food and lot 04761 contains Delta – 9-tetrahydrocannabinol. This substance is a psychoactive compound in cannabis and has harmful consequences for health since it affects the Central Nervous System.
The alert was raised when the health authorities of Catalonia gave the notice to the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (SCRI), who are the experts thanks to whom Aesan collects alert notifications. Thanks to this, it has been known that the affected oil is hemp seed oil from the Pure Indian Foods brand. The organization has recommended that it not be consumed.
He container is 250 milliliters glass with an expiration date of November 30, 2026. It may be in the pantries of some homes, so it is recommended to carefully check the bottles of this brand, to remove them if they are affected.
Aesan highlights on its page that it has been marketed through online sales, although it is not ruled out that some product from the affected batch may have been purchased in a physical store.
Why has this seed oil been withdrawn from sale?
