Social Security pays the minimum vital income to 2,300,000 people in July

The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations has made public the payment data for the provision of the minimum vital income (IMV) in July 2025. In total, the number of beneficiary households amounts to 752,769 of which 129,655 are monoparental and in more than two thirds live lower (children and adolescents) that are 41.2% of those who receive this subsistence benefit.

The IMV with the Childhood aid complement (CAPI) has arrived last month at 527,071 coexistence units. Since in 2020 this benefit was launched to improve the economic situation of people with low income, 1,068,719 households have been covered and benefited from 3,176,036 people.

The INSS figure the average amount of the benefit at 519.16 euros

The National Social Security Institute (INSS) has encrypted the average amount of the provision of the minimum vital income at 519.16 euros per household and together, the payroll rises to 426.3 million euros. This month, there are 112,501 active benefits more than those that had been a year ago, in this same period which represents an increase of 17.6%.

On the beneficiaries, it should be noted that in 2025 370,570 more than in this month of 2024 (19.2%) have been recorded. Both the profile of the holders and the beneficiaries, it can be said that the IMV has a marked female profile, where 67.8% of the holders (590,970) and 53.5% of the beneficiaries are women, 1,229,040.

Children are the main beneficiaries

41.2% of those charged by IMV are lower, specifically 947,903, so one of the objectives is being met, which was to combat child poverty. In July, more than two thirds of households covered by the IMV have minors, 69%. There are 519,011 households with children than 129,655 are single -parent. Normally, in these cases, there are women who are in charge of children.

The CAPI has reached 527,071 coexistence units. This modality is an aid of 115 euros per household per month when there are children from 0 to 3 years old, 80.5 euros when they are between 3 and 6 years old and 57.5 euros when they are between 6 and 18 years old. The average amount of the complement has been 67.7 euros for less and 124.6 euros per household with minors.

“In these 5 years of validity, IMV has been shown to be effective and essential for the reduction of extreme poverty and inequality especially between children and adolescents.” The money that has been invested in the IMV in these 5 years is 16,204.7 million euros.
