The Social security has registered, until December 13, a total of 21,378,245 membersremaining above 21.3 million since the beginning of the month, both in the original series and in the seasonally adjusted one according to data provided by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.
In this way, Social Security has gained 26,986 employees in the first half of December, according to the daily affiliation series until the 13th of this month.
Thus, according to data from Elma Saiz’s portfolio, the Spanish labor market continues its path of recovery, with the creation of 484,805 net jobs since the beginning of 2024. This figure, adjusted for seasonal and calendar factors, consolidates levels similar to those recorded before the pandemic.
In the last two weeks, the number of members has increased by almost 37,000 people, raising the total employment to 21,327,741 people in the seasonally adjusted series. In year-on-year terms, the system adds 498,805 new members, while from the levels prior to the health crisis, growth amounts to 1.97 million jobs.

The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, has positively valued these figures, highlighting the good progress of employment in our country.
“The data for mid-December corroborates the good progress of the Spanish labor market, exceeding 21.3 million members. With almost half a million more jobs than a year ago, we must value the policies promoted for job creation.”
These results reflect the positive impact of measures adopted to promote stability and the growth of employment in Spain, consolidating a trend that strengthens the labor market after the challenges of recent years, as the Government highlights in its statement.
