Social Security gained more than 503,000 affiliates in the last year

The Social security has registered as of January 15 a total of 21,363,168 membersin terms seasonally adjusted according to data sent to the media by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration of Elma Saiz. Thus, in the original series this figure remains at 21,097,089 more affiliates.

When you discount the seasonality and the calendar effect, Since the beginning of 2024, 503,450 jobs have been created, a figure that is in line with pre-pandemic levels (before 2020) to reach 21,363,168 affiliates, with an increase of more than 35,000 people in the last two fortnights.

Elma Saiz highlights the good pace of membership

The Minister of Social Security, Elma Saiz, explained that β€œthe first data we have in 2025 indicates that, in the middle of the month of January, there have been registered more than 503,000 members more than a year ago”.

With the data available until January 15, the total number of affiliates has increased by more than half a million people (520,232) in the adjusted series since December 2023 and by more than two million since before the pandemic began of covid.
