Revolution in Industry: Xiaomi factory produces a thousand cars a day with only 20 employees

Xiaomi impresses the automotive sector with its recent Beijing factory, where about 1,137 cars are produced per day by only 20 employees, thanks to more than 700 robots that finish a car every 76 seconds.

According to Xiaomi, its state -of -the -art factory, with impressive 718,000 square meters, was designed with the goal to integrate production, research, development, testing and even consumer experience in a single space. The internally developed Hyper Die-Casting system reduces production time by 45% compared to traditional methods, while the X-Eye Intelligent Inspection System ensures accuracy of more than 99.9% in the quality of manufactured vehicles.

With impressive industrial efficiency, another highlight is sustainability. The factory is equipped with photovoltaic panels that generate 16.4 million kWh of electricity per year, reducing CO2 emissions by almost 10,000 tons per year. About 30% of the aluminum used comes from recycled sources, contributing to an additional reduction of emissions per vehicle.

The success of the Su7 electric model, launched in March 2024, led Xiaomi to double the production capacity to respond to the high demand, with over 100,000 orders registered and plans to deliver 100,000 units by the end of the year. The company has already announced the construction of a new factory, which will double the annual capacity to 300,000 vehicles.
