The average price of light for this Wednesday, August 6, 2025, within the wholesale market, will be 78.27 euros per megavatio hour (MWh). In this way, the Ecuador of the week arrives with a strong rise of 36.85%, which represents 21.08 euros more, if we compare it with the price collected on Tuesday, which was 57.19 euros, as shown in the data of the Iberian energy market operator (OMIE).
Similarly, now the electric rate is cheaper than a year ago, when it cost 105.56 euros. This represents a decrease of 25.82%, that is, 27.29 euros less compared to the price registered then. This decrease especially benefits consumers with regulated PVPC or indexed rate in the free market, although it must be taken into account that these figures do not include taxes or tolls, which will be released at the last minute of the day through Red Electrica España.

The cheapest time of light this Wednesday will be concentrated between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., where the price will be at 27.20 euros/MWh. After this, the following cheaper hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 am with € 27.67/MWh, from 12:00 to 13:00 (€ 28.4/MWh), from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (€ 28.8/MWh), ideal for concentrating the highest domestic electricity consumption and reducing the invoice.
