The average price of light for this Friday, August 1, 2025, within the wholesale market will be 64.79 euros per megavatio hour (MWh). In this way, the electric rate rises, but it does it slightly 0.89%, that is, 0.57 euros if we compare it with the price collected this Thursday, which stood at 64.22 euros, as shown in the data of the Iberian energy market operator (OMIE).
Now, if we compare it with last year we can say that it is cheap, exactly 39.61% less, since that day the ‘pool’ had a price of 107.32 euros. This price will affect consumers with regulated PVPC or indexed rate in the free market, but taking into account that it does not have taxes or tolls applied. When is light cheaper this Friday?
The cheapest time of light will take place in the afternoon, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a price of € 13.43/MWh. After this, the next cheaper hours will take place at 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with € 17.42/MWh, from 1:00 p.m. to 14:00 (€ 25.06/MWh), 14:00 to 15:00 (€ 20.01/MWh) and 12:00 to 13:00 (€ 31.87/MWh), ideal for concentrating the highest domestic electrical consumption and reducing the invoice.
When is electricity more expensive this Friday?
The most expensive section of the day will be between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., with a maximum price of € 103.02/MWh. They are followed very closely 22:00 to 23:00 (€ 102.52/MWh), 00:00 to 01:00 (€ 102.22/MWh), and 23:00 to 24:00 (€ 95.41/MWh). These stripes coincide with the end of the day, when it usually increases consumption in homes.
