The average price of light in Spain for this Friday, September 12, 2025, is 73.13 euros per megavatio hour (MWh), according to the data of the Iberian energy market operator (OMIE). In this way, the electric rate rises 18.71 euros, 34.36%, if we compare it with the price of the ‘pool’ recorded on Wednesday, which stood at 54.42 euros/MWh.
If we look at a year ago, we can say that we more or less pay the same, since that day the ‘pool’ had a price of 72.21 euros/MWh. Now, this cost and that affects consumers with regulated rate (PVPC) or indexed in the free market does not carry taxes or tolls, because this data gives it to the end of the Electric Red day, hence, its price in this is higher.

On the contrary, the highest price of light will be between 07:00 and 08:00 hours, when electricity must be paid at 143.15 euros/MWh. Although this is the time that should also be avoided, other expensive sections such as from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (143.03 euros/MWh) and from 20:00 to 21:00 hours (123.45 euros/MWh) also stand out.
