Price of extra virgin olive oil this week: offers below 5 euros

The Government of Spain, through the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, published a few days ago estimates of olive oil production, which will exceed 1.37 tons this 2025/2026 campaign. Although the data is positive, it represents a 3% drop compared to the olive grove’s last campaign, which closed this past September. The doubt that now assails many consumers is whether this will have repercussions on their shopping basket and extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) will once again increase in price in supermarkets.

Today, what can be found on the shelves of supermarkets such as The English CourtAlcampo or Mercadona, among others, the price of EVOO is lower than what it was a year ago, when maximums were reached and you had to pay more than 10 euros for a liter of olive oil.
