In general, the central hours of the day, between 11:00 and 15:00, will be the most recommended to concentrate electricity consumption, with an average cost that remains around 70–75 euros/MWh.
When is electricity most expensive?
The highest price of the day will be reached between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., when the cost of electricity will rise to 129.25 euros/MWh. The sections from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (€124.06/MWh) and from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (€120.02/MWh) also stand out for their high amount.

According to data from the Iberian Energy Market Operator for this Wednesday, the best and most economical hours will be between 10:00 and 17:00. On the contrary, we must avoid high electricity consumption after 5:00 p.m., as the price skyrockets, as shown in the following graph.

Evolution of the price of electricity
Electricity continues to be cheaper than in November of last year. So far this month, the average wholesale market price stands at 53.38 euros per megawatt hour, well below the 105.56 euros registered in the same period of 2024.
Although the year-on-year decrease continues, it does so with somewhat less intensity than in previous days. On November 19, 2024, the average price was 136.37 euros/MWh, that is, 33.33 euros more than this year’s reference.
