Nijole is 69 years old, he is Lithuanian but has been living in England for a long time (Birmingham). His life could be that of a major retiree who relaxes after an intense working life. But nothing is further from reality. This pensioner has spent years claiming the Lithuanian Social Security (the Sodra) the payment of his retirement pension, since he had not charged it for 5 years.
When the public administration in charge of the pension system in that country had news of this, it immediately detected that it had been a mistake. But the truth is that what has angry at the woman has not been this ruling, but the way they admitted it and, above all, that no one has asked for forgiveness after having invested a large number of their savings to pay for legal advice and a lawyer.

Its history was published by the Lithuanian television network TV3 And it has revolutionized the social networks of that country, where users have described it as an injustice. The fact is that the retiree, who has resided for 18 years in England, worked in Lithuania where she quoted the social security of that country.
Once he reached the retirement age, the process to request and collect his pension began but as he explained to TV3, he stopped receiving the money and began a “succession of endless calls”. His lawyer, Sandra Palasuké said that “she is not one of those who remain silent, provided she could call Sodra (social security) and never stopped doing it.”
He denounced the default of his retirement pension to the press and reached the government
The solution began to glimpse when the retiree decided to tell local media. Pagalba TV It was the first chain that echoed the information and thanks to the report, the Lithuanian Social Security Minister contacted her. He told him that he would take action and talk to the director of Sodra since he did not know the case.
When the agency studied what had happened, he acknowledged that the ruling had been his. He agreed to pay the retiree the money that owed him but first a part of money, then a second and after a new claim, a third. In total, about 16,000 euros. “I have not apologized from the sodra or anyone else, I paid my pocket’s lawyer and have not compensated for anything, I was without a pension, without interest and without apologies.”
Sodra made a statement in which he recognized the error but assured that it had been an “isolated” ruling. One of his advisors, Malgozata Kozin said that “we know there are problems, we see it in the media through direct contact with people, we are very concerned when pensions do not arrive on time.”
Social Security twice charges an old man insurance
When Nijole was learned, other irregularities of the Lithuanian Social Security began to see the light. One of them is that of an older citizen than the receipt of his medical insurance had passed twice for the bank.
In this case, the Administration also recognized the ruling, but the affected person had to pay the costs of claiming, energy and even anxiety to ask for what is his.
