The National Bank of Poland responded with an official statement to the submission of a political motion to the State Tribunal for Prof. Adam Glapiński, President of the National Bank of Poland.
A motion to bring Prof. Adam Glapiński, president of the National Bank of Poland, before the State Tribunal has been submitted to the Sejm. The motion was signed by 191 members of parliament – informs Money.pl.
Charges against Glapiński
The allegations against the NBP president concern, among others, access by members of the Monetary Policy Council and some members of the NBP management board to key information regarding the bank’s activities, the purchase of bonds by the NBP in 2020 and the bonus for President Glapiński. According to the applicants, the NBP president “made the National Bank of Poland a PiS appetizer. He made fun of Poles. Nothing hit the Polish economy as hard as Glapiński’s incompetence.”
The State Tribunal for the pest Glapiński is certainly due. During his rule, the NBP was transformed into the main bastion of PiS for political tasks, special tasks, which were managed by Jarosław Kaczyński
– said Left MP Tomasz Trela.
NBP denies allegations
According to the NBP, “this is not a personal matter of one person, it is the destruction of the foundations of the Polish state and its economy”. The bank’s representatives further wrote in the statement: “We are being accused of what we can and should do. The applicants are creating a state in which, in the event of similar threats in the future, Poland will be defenseless, and people holding public offices will be afraid to make decisions. The message that was sent today is: If, at a time of danger, you show calmness, courage and knowledge, make the necessary decisions, achieve success, pull the country out of oppression, the winner of the next elections will want to put you in prison”.
