Modern technologies are a solution to companies' problems

Modern technologies as a solution to company problems

More and more Polish entrepreneurs complain about the increase in employment costs, and one way to deal with this problem may be to use modern technologies.

In 2023, as many as 92 percent of entrepreneurs in Poland will experience an increase in employment costs, according to a study conducted by the Polish Economic Institute. For comparison, in 2020, only one in three surveyed companies complained about an increase in employment costs.

What’s more, the PIE study showed that none of the companies surveyed in Poland had noticed a decrease in employment costs in our country, and only 7% of entrepreneurs stated that they had not changed compared to the previous year. PIE analysts explain that the increase in employment costs is the result of inflation, which translates into a wage spiral, and this is reflected in the increase in social security contributions.

A way to reduce employment costs may be to use modern technologies, i.e. digitization and robotization, but Polish companies are only just starting out in this area.

In 2023, 22% of surveyed companies declared an increase in the use of such technologies, while in 2021 it was only 13%. In 2021-2023, along with the increase in the percentage of companies indicating an increase in employment costs, the share of companies in which the use of modern technologies is increasing increased. We had a different situation in 2020, i.e. in the pandemic year, with strict lockdowns, which caused an increase in the use of modern technologies in companies’ operations, mainly in connection with remote work.
