It is no secret that thousands of pensioners are having trouble getting an appointment with social security. Any procedure related to the pension can become an odyssey in the face of current difficulties that exist to receive personalized attention from an official. And that is what Mari Cruz lived in his own skin, which paradoxically has been working 25 years in a Social Security Office.
“Now I am on the other side of the table. I am out, looking to have an appointment,” he told the ‘and now Sonsoles’ program, where he explained that it was impossible to take an appointment for his pension. Therefore, like many other people, he has been forced to go to a locker, and it is that it is a business that is already being known as the ‘black market market’.

“I could not have an appointment, I went to a locker and there they put a list of the things you need and everything has a price,” he explained, ensuring that where she lives, in Murcia, “prices are much cheaper” than in other cities, such as Madrid or Barcelona. Specifically, around 5 euros are being paid, when in large capitals it can reach 20 euros.

Mari Cruz, in the aforementioned program, said surprised that, using the services of the locatorio, he was able to get an appointment that same day: “I go to a madman and I say that I need an appointment for the INSS, the man gets to typed and tells me that he had one that day at 12:30 pm.”
Now, since I was not prepared, nor did it have all the documentation, requested if I could reserve another for another day, being able to arrange it for the same day: “He told me that for the next day I could choose the time he wants,” he said perplex, noting that “they get it very fast.”
This former official, also said that they not only got quotes with social security, but also for other procedures: “There are quotes for everything, foreigners, the SEPE, whatever you want.” A situation that, having worked as attention to the public, had baffled him as well as frustrated: “I am very embarrassed and I am outraged,” he said.
For her, this problem occurred following the pandemic, ensuring that “before the pandemic everything worked differently.” Mari Cruz stated that, before this event, in his office, as in many other “people arrived, he took a nurse”, because “there was an official giving numbers according to what each person was going to do, so that they were not giving lying or making a tail that did not correspond to him.”
On this time, he claimed that “people helped a lot in everything,” but that following the crisis by COVID-19 this disappeared: “They began to put the screens and change so many things …”. A problem for which, he warns, the announcers and these parallel businesses cannot be the solution, warning of a very important detail, and that “we leave our personal data”, without any guarantee of how they can be treated.
