Lolita Flores, with 49 years of contributions, does not want retirement: “as long as she is healthy, I will leave the pension to others”

The artist Lolita Flores, sister of Rosario and Antonio and daughter of the legendary Lola Flores and El Pescaílla, is 67 years old and has 49 contributions to Social Security. But for now, he doesn’t want to talk about retiring, stopping working and starting to collect his retirement pension. This is what he recognized in an interview for ‘And now Sonsoles’ where he went to present the play ‘Poncia’.

Although he broke records in the world of music with his well-known ‘Sarandonga‘, acknowledges that it is not in this field where he has had the most success in Spain, unlike in Latin America. “I’m not a big record seller,” she admitted. He has worked hard and tirelessly and now, at his age, he has decided that the retirement pension is for those who “really need it” because although he has many years of contributions, “my working life continues.”

“Luckily, I have a lot of work, I have 49 years of contributions although Social Security says I have been there for 37… I already have my pension but as long as I am healthy, I leave the pension to other people who need it more.”

Lolita’s secret to working without health problems

Lolita has explained that she has a secret to being able to go to work every day, without suffering health problems and this is none other than eating raw garlic in the morning. “I have never had a cold, I believe in medicine and when you have to take antibiotics, you have to do it but you can also maintain yourself with natural things, supplements and eating healthy.”

“Every day I have a whole wheat toast with honey and cinnamon, ham, coffee and my clove of raw garlic.” His work rhythm is enviable, with an agenda full of appointments that can be seen when examining his extensive experience on stage in both concerts and theater.

“Mourning is carried out differently in my house”

The singer has explained that she always remembers her relatives who are not there, especially her parents, Antonio González’The Pescaílla‘, Lola Flores and her brother Antonio Flores. “At home, mourning is carried out differently, I talk to them as with anyone, they have been three beings of light and I believe they continue to give us that light.”

Regarding the documentary that tells the life of his brother Antonio, also a musician, he points out that he has seen it “at the San Sebastián Festival, but I can’t see it anymore.” “My wound is still open and it is difficult for me to talk about this topic. It is my life, my paradise, where my sister Rosario and I want to go when we die.”
