Liz Bates, who works as a housing inspector and is 42 years old, has denounced that just in front of his terrace, from where he could see the sea, now there is a concrete wall. The reason is none other than the work carried out by the promoter to live status to build a luxury housing complex. In the newspaper The Sunthis woman has denounced that “supposedly”, the construction company has no authorization to carry out that structure.
His anger is not only based on the fact that he has lost the views of the sea he enjoyed since he moved to the house, more than 10 years ago, but also now his house is worth 58,000 euros less. Located in Southbourne, one of the strengths of the location was that with the high Real estate market priceits value had shot.

In the complaint, he explains that the working day of the workers who are raising the block begins at 7:30 in the morning, so the noise is unbearable. “Two months ago some supports appeared in front of our house, when I asked, they told me they were for a terrace wall.”
For her work, she knows when permits are granted for certain works and in that case she was sure. “I told them that there was no license for that, and the masons told me that they did not know, that they fulfilled orders, so I went to the City Council.”
Once there, he got the works to be paralyzed because they did not have mandatory authorization. But the promoter ignored and continued lifting the wall. “He has done it for arrogance, I think he hopes that in the end they will be approved,” says the affected in the aforementioned medium.
The affected homes have lost almost 60,000 euros of their value
The real estate agents who have evaluated the situation of Liz and its neighbors, believe that the homes affected by the wall have devalued up to 58,000 euros. The reason is that the views of the beach have been lost but, in addition, no one goes through the head to put their home as they are now.
“We are trapped, we have lost our sight, privacy, natural light and we can’t even enjoy the outside. When we are with the windows closed, we continue to smell the smoke of the cigarettes or the barbecue of the workers.”
The promoter wants to regularize the wall
The promoter does not step back despite the warning of the City Council that ordered to paralyze the works. They have requested “a non -material modification”, to the original urban permit to regularize the wall. With these procedures, minor adjustments are allowed without complete approval, when it does not affect the design or the environment.
“It is not a small change, and they have not presented any plane of location of the terrace, so we think it would go in front of the building, and not on the wall of the first floor. The impact is brutal.”
The project consists of several four -storey blocks, and is located on an old parking lot. The land was put on sale in 2017 and got the approval after appealing an urban inspector despite firms of more than 1,500 neighbors.
“No owner has the right to view”
Living statnes has responded through its spokesman Eddie Fitzimmons. “The project is legal because no owner who buys a house in the United Kingdom has the right to view. It is a matter of civil law, this urbanization will improve the area and increase the value of the properties.”
But Liz Bates, who speaks for all those affected, does not agree. “We are suffering a lot with this work so that they now come with an unnecessary structure. I invite any municipal technician to come and check with their own eyes what this is for our family.” For its part, once the work is paralyzed, the City Council rules out.
