The average price of electricity in Spain for this Sunday, August 31, 2025, will be 37.30 euros/MWh (euros the megavatio hour). This represents a drop of 29.10% compared to that registered on Saturday, when the wholesale market (‘Pool’) marked 52.61 euros/MWh. In absolute terms, the reduction is 15.31 euros, according to the data of the Iberian energy market (OMIE).

If compared to the same date of last year, the difference is even more significant. Then, the light was paid at 115.57 euros/MWh, so it is now 67.73% cheaper. It should be remembered that this is only the wholesale price of reference, which mainly affects consumers received from the regulated rate (PVPC) or with indexed contracts in the free market. To this figure you have to add tolls, charges and taxes, which Red Eléctrica will publish at the last minute of the day.

When is light cheaper this Sunday?

The lowest electricity price will be registered between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., when the cost will be -0.98 euros/MWh. In general, the cheapest stripes will be concentrated between 10:00 and 7:00 p.m., with values ​​that range between 0 euros and negative prices. These hours are the most recommended to perform activities with greater electrical consumption, such as putting the washing machine, loading the electric car or using the oven.

When is the light more expensive this Sunday?

The highest price of the day will be reached in the strip from 00:00 to 01:00 hours, with a maximum of 81.06 euros/MWh. High values ​​will also be recorded during the early morning and night, especially between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., when prices will exceed 59 euros/MWh. These will be the less advisable hours to concentrate consumption, since the electrical invoice can make more expensive.
