The average price of light for this Saturday, August 2, 2025, within the wholesale market will be 37.24 euros per megavatio hour (MWh). Thus, the second day of the month begins with a strong decrease of 42.51%, which are about 27.55 euros, if we compare it with the price collected this Friday that was 64.79 euros, as shown by the data of the Iberian energy market operator (OMIE).
In the same way, now the electric rate is cheaper than a year ago, which cost 93.50 euros, that is, 60.19% less or 56.26 euros if we translate it into consumer pocket. This decrease will benefit consumers with regulated PVPC or indexed rate in the free market, but considering that it does not have taxes or tolls applied. When is light cheaper this Saturday?
The cheapest time of light will take place during noon and the first part of the afternoon, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a price of € 0/MWh. After this, the following cheaper hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with € 0.65/MWh, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (€ 1.06/MWh), from 09:00 to 10:00 (€ 3.52/MWh) and from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
When is electricity more expensive this Saturday?
The most expensive section of the day will be between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., with a maximum price of € 99.64/MWh. They are followed very closely 22:00 to 23:00 (€ 99.64/MWh), 00:00 to 01:00 (€ 97.80/MWh), 23:00 to 24:00 (€ 80.50/MWh) and 01:00 to 02:00 (€ 77.08/MWh). These stripes coincide with the beginning and the end of the day, when it usually increases consumption in homes.
