The pricing crisis in the Spanish field explodes again. Thousands of farmers denounce each campaign that the prices they receive For their products they do not cover even production costs. While consumers pay much more in supermarkets, producers see how their margin is reduced to practically unsustainable.

This has been denounced by Juan Miguel Suárez, a farmer in Almería, in one of his last videos he has published on his social networks.
Denounces that the price does not cover or expenses
Directed directly to the consumer, the farmer emphasizes the misery he receives for each kilo of cucumber. “Look at what pickles, how the cane is going,” he says while showing its cultivation. “In these weeks, when you are buying cucumber of this type, that you know that they are paying us at 40 centimillos,” he says, regretting such a low price that condemns small farmers to work at losses while the product is sold several times more expensive in supermarkets. “It’s to shit into many things,” he says.
Juan Miguel, who avoids looking for concrete guilty, and who claims to take more than a month and a half dedicated to carrying out the crop, facing all kinds of difficulties in achieving the quality required by the market, meets a result that does not reach “neither to cover costs”.

“Sad reality, but as real as life itself,” summarizes the farmer emphasizing the “effort to raise this crop and get it afloat” to end up charging this amount. “People believe that it is easy, but reaching this point with this health health, with this quality and with this load of fruits is very complicated so that it is now worth 40 cents,” he insists.
Far from being an isolated case, the scene reflects the structural precariousness of Spanish agriculture, where, in most cases, the daily effort is not rewarded. “This is true agriculture,” he says, before continuing with his day.
